I started this blog when I moved to Tokyo in 2008 and my daily life was a sensual overload. The name Wasabiwabi is a derivation of the Japanese word wabisabi which means the “worship of the imperfect”. But that name was already taken – so now I have a truly imperfect name for my blog. I now live in Rye, New York and strive for a life where my senses are overloaded…its a daily struggle.
Lisa:
I just read and looked that the photos of your lates trip that you took with 6 other women.
Your desciption of everything you saw and did matches perfectly to the fabulous photos you took. I love your blog. and you too!

You’re in Tokyo, eh? But get down to Kyoto
from time to time. Very good for you. Even though I’m in good ol’ Birmingham, I invite you to touch base next time you get down Kyoto way, as I can tell you and your friends about a couple of cool places that are very easy to get to, but are *not* “regular” destinations. Nothing weird, mind you, just some nice scenes and good food.

Dear Lisa,
It’s been good to check out your work here and for Metropolis, I wonder if you wouldn’t mind dropping me an email so I can contact you about another writing opportunity.
Best,
Robert.
Hi Lisa-
I came across one of your articles in Metropolis and was hoping I could convince you to share some of your expat insight with my site : Expat Arrivals.com (http://www.expatarrivals.com). Let me know if you’d be interested, I look forward to hearing from you.
Best-
Stephanie
